<p>Methyl 2-(6-chloro-O-toluidino) phenylacetate antirheumatic. Title cpd. is an antiinflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic agent with low toxicity and no ulcerogenic activity. It inhibits rat foot oedema at 25-50 mg/kg orally, is analgesic at 200 mg/kg orally in mice and is anti-pyretic at 100 mg/kg orally in rats. Daily adult dose is 150-600 mg. Prepn. is by esterification of the acid, e.g. by diazomethane.</p> |
