PURPOSE: A water treatment system is provided to chemically reduce the chemical oxygen demand(COD) of water by generating active oxide through the decomposition process of hypochlorous acid. CONSTITUTION: A water treatment system includes a gas/liquid mixing unit(6) and a partitioned electrolytic cell(5). The gas/liquid mixing unit generates hypochlorous acid by mixing a chlorine gas. Water containing the hypochlorous acid generated in the gas/liquid mixing unit is supplied as water to be treated in order to reduce the COD of the water to be treated. A part of the water to be treated is supplied to the partitioned electrolytic cell in order to supply the chlorine gas to the gas/liquid mixing unit. The water to be treated includes a protic amphiphilic solvent and a aprotic amphiphilic solvent. |
