<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a color filter not provided with a transparent conductive film on a black matrix upper face and a horn part upper face, having a transparent conductive film upper face of a height substantially the same as that of the horn part upper face, and provided with an orientation control opening part in the transparent conductive film. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the color filter includes a process for forming a black matrix 51, and a peripheral edge part of a color element 52 overlappedly on an end part of the black matrix, a process for forming the transparent conductive film 54, a process for forming an etching resist 60, a process for removing the transparent conductive film in a black matrix upper side by etching, and a process for polishing the horn part 53, and makes the height of the transparent conductive film upper face substantially same to that of the horn part upper face.
