Disclosed is a control rod that is for a high-temperature gas furnace and wherein, by means of a high-strength supporting structure, even if pulling, bending, shearing, or other stresses are applied, the linked state of control rod elements is not lost, and by means of an increase in heat resistance, the safety of the high-temperature gas furnace can be dramatically increased. The control rod for a high-temperature gas furnace is provided with a plurality of control rod elements (1) wherein a neutron absorber (7) is disposed between an outer tube (9) and inner tube (8) that form a double cylinder, the control elements (1) being structured to link in the vertical direction, and the control rod is characterized by a columnar supporter (2) that supports at least the abovementioned neutron absorber (7) being disposed within the abovementioned inner tube (8), and a linking means that links with another control rod element being provided to the upper and lower ends of the supporter (2).
