PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of noise and vibration, and torque fluctuations by reducing variation in contact parts of a rolling element for each pocket. SOLUTION: This invention provides a retainer. The retainer 9 includes two or more pocket parts 11, each of which is formed in an annular shape and circumferentially S accommodates the rolling elements 7 while exposing it in a radially inward and outward directions of each pocket part, at intervals. The inside of the pocket 11 is composed of retaining regions 21 which are arranged circumferentially S opposite to each other and retain the rolling element 7 by catching it circumferentially S between them, and non-retaining regions 23 which are arranged in the axial direction Z and are not in contact with the rolling element 7.
