PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate removal and replacement of at least one of a first writing element and a second writing element in a writing instrument having the first writing element and the second writing element. SOLUTION: The writing instrument includes a proximal end, a distal end, an outside barrel, the first writing element disposed in the outside barrel, and the second writing element disposed in the outside barrel and having a porous nib. The first writing element and the second writing element can mutually be moved in an axial direction. In order to remove and replace at least one of the first writing element and the second writing element, the outside barrel is configured so as to be able to approach to at least one of the first writing element and the second writing element.
