PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article coated with a photocatalyst, exhibiting excellent capability of decomposing a harmful gas and an excellent anti-mold/anti-alga property as well while preventing its substrate from degenerating, and a photocatalytic coating liquid. SOLUTION: The article coated with the photocatalyst, including a photocatalyst layer disposed on the surface of a substrate, which photocatalyst layer is formed by applying a photocatalytic coating liquid thereonto and subsequently drying the same, with the photocatalytic coating liquid including photocatalytic metal oxide particles, silica particles, a curable silicone emulsion, a water soluble silver compound and water, is characterized in that the silica particles are partially coated or modified with a substance comprising a hydrophobic group, and the photocatalytic metal oxide particles are of an oxidizing power stronger than the reducing power thereof.
