PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the stability upon receiving an occupant seated in a normal position. SOLUTION: An airbag device 11 inflates and develops in front of the occupant 3 in the event of abnormality so as to absorb a shock from the front side of vehicle. This device includes: an inflator jetting a gas in the event of abnormality; and an airbag 12 inflating and deploying with the gas fed from this inflator. The airbag 12 has: a fixed vent 12c with an unvarying opening area even during inflating and deploying; a variable vent 12d with an opening area varying from a full open state to a closed state in accordance with the state of the inflation and development; closing means 13 for this variable vent 12d; and gap blocking means 15 filling a gap 14 produced when this closing means 13 closes the variable vent 12d. Accordingly, since the variable vent is fully closed when the occupant seated in the normal position is received, stability upon receiving the occupant is enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
