An X-ray device for examining syringe caps (3) with a cannula (27), comprising an x-ray source (5), an x-ray detector (9), and having a holder (39) holding the syringe cap (3) in the beam path (13) at an examination site (15), is proposed. The x-ray device is characterized in that the syringe cap (3) is arranged in the beam path (13) so that its longitudinal axis (17) coincides with the main axis (19) of the beam path (13).
