The invention relates to a device for laying out a room, comprising a set of seats distributed over multiple parallel rows. The invention is characterised in that the device comprises: a set of supporting beams (1) disposed behind one another and each provided with a first floor surface (3) equipped with a series of seats (5) and a second planar floor surface (4); and means for rotating the supporting beams (1), which co-operate with means (6, 6') for lifting said beams (1), such that they can be moved together by means vertical translation and rotation through 180° between a stepped position and a planar position.
