<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device maintaining high quality of display visually confirmed by an observer even when the illuminance in the surroundings changes while suppressing increase in cost. <P>SOLUTION: This display device is provided with: an illuminance sensor 30 detecting the illuminance in the surroundings; an input average luminance detecting circuit 21 detecting the average luminance of an input image; a frame insert control circuit 24 for generating a gray image frame, and inserting the generated gray image frame between an input image frame and an input image frame input subsequently; and an insert luminance level generating circuit 22 for deciding the luminance of the gray image frame according to the illuminance detected by the illuminance sensor 30 and the average luminance of the input image detected by the input average luminance detecting circuit 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
