PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for providing surrounding vehicle information, capable of reducing the calculation load on map matching for specifying the location of another vehicle on a map. SOLUTION: The surrounding vehicle information providing apparatus (12) includes a map matching necessity decision means (60) for, on the basis of a second own vehicle's location (P12) after map matching (MM) processing and a first another vehicle's location (P21) before MM processing, determining the necessity for location decision map matching processing on the first another vehicle's location (P21). An another vehicle map matching processing means (64) of the surrounding vehicle information providing apparatus (12) performs the location decision map matching processing on the first another vehicle's location (P21) for which the map matching necessity decision means (60) has determined that the location decision map matching processing is necessary.
