PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle difficult to pose as a drunk state detection device by adding an operation for communication, in a form provided with a device for detecting a drunk state of a driver and a device for inhibiting starting of an engine when the drunk state is detected to perform communication between both of the devices. SOLUTION: This control device includes an alcohol detection device for detecting alcohol of the driver of the vehicle and an interlock ECU for inhibiting the starting of the engine when the alcohol detection device detects alcohol. A numerical value is transmitted from the interlock ECU (S110), and the alcohol detection device receiving the numerical value performs a prescribed calculation (S210) and returns the arithmetic result (S220). The interlock ECU determines that an authentication of the alcohol detection device is failed if the arithmetic result is not proper (S120:NO), and does not command an alcohol inspection.
