The container handling system (1) has multiple handling elements, where each handling element is used for a predetermined handling of the containers. Each handling element is assigned a container-threshold value. A detection device (100) is provided for detecting characteristics of a container to be handled. A comparison device is provided for comparing a detection result of the detection device with the container-threshold value for a handling element. An independent claim is also included for a container handling method for handling of containers filled with a product.
