PURPOSE: A vehicle automatic transmission gear train is provided to implement a transmission stage of 8 forward steps and 2 rear steps by assembling first through third planetary gear set using 4 clutches and 2 brakes. CONSTITUTION: A first planetary gear set comprises a double pinion planetary gear set including the three operating elements(S1, PC1, R1). The first planetary gear set comprises first through third rotation elements. A secondary planet gear set comprises a double pinion planetary gear set including three operating elements(S2, PC2, R2). A third planetary gear set comprises a single pinion planetary gear set including three operating element(S3, PC3, R3).
