1275173 Bleaching compositions L'OREAL 15 May 1970 [16 May 1969] 23758/70 Heading D1P A composition comprises a homogeneous mixture of solid powdered particles of generally less than 1mm diameter granulated with a water-soluble binder, the mixture of solid particles constituting a conventional oxidizing composition suitable for bleaching hair after the addition thereto of an aqueous medium e.g. comprising H 2 O 2 . The mixture may contain 30-50% by weight of per-salts e.g. persulphates and perborates, 10-20% of magnesium carbonate and at least one thickener perfume or ammonium salt. The composition may be prepared by spraying the powder mixture with a solution of the binder in a granulator. Suitable binders are polyvinyl pyrrolidone and glucose dissolved in e.g. water and/or alcohol to the extent of 0.5-10% by weight. The granules may have a size of 1-6mm and contain 0.1-10% by weight of binder. To allow for evolution of ammonia during granulation, the initial concentration of ammonium salts, if any, in the powder can be greater than that desired in the granulated mixture and also the binder can be dissolved in an aqueous solution with an ammonia concentration of 0.05-0.2% by weight. |
