ANTENNA APPARATUS FOR STEERING BEAM ELECTRONICALLY USING MICROELECTROMECHANICAL SYSTEM ELEMENT

PURPOSE: An apparatus for electronically steering a beam using an MEMS(MicroElectroMechanical System) element is provided to form an array element with an MEMS element on a micro strip patch, thereby emitting an electromagnetic wave in a desired direction. CONSTITUTION: A polarization filter(310) selectively transmits a polarization wave of an electromagnetic wave. A reflect array(320) reflects an electromagnetic wave in a fixed direction. A power supply unit(330) emits and receives an electromagnetic wave through the polarization filter and the reflect array. A beam steering controller(340) controls on/off of the MEMS element. A micro strip patch comprises the first slot and the second slot orthogonal to the first slot. MEMS elements are installed in the first and second slots respectively.
