PURPOSE: A washing machine and a control method thereof are provided to repeat increasing and lowering of speed of a universal motor in a constant interval in range of a predetermined size by checking constant speed section entry in dehydration process. CONSTITUTION: An operating handling unit(80) operates operation of a washing machine. A speed sensing unit(90) senses speed of a motor(29). By a speed control signal of a control unit(100), a triac(72) performs on/off operation. For forward rotating or backward rotating of the motor, switching a first and second relays(74,76) is performed. A power unit(60) supplies power. A rectification unit(78) rectifies common AC(Alternating Current) power. The motor rotates a drum. |
