PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the overhang part of a roll drive shaft coupled to respective upper and lower rolls in a pinch roller device for conveying a steel bar installed at a conveying line for simultaneously conveying a plurality of steel bar materials and having at least a pair of upper and lower rolls that pinch one steel bar material of an objective conveying line across the other conveying line. SOLUTION: The pinch roller device for conveying the steel bar includes: upper and lower roll drive shafts 113, 114 allowing the respective upper and lower rolls 111, 112 to be coupled to a tip and transmitting a rotational drive force to the respective rolls 111, 112; and upper and lower bearing casings 115, 116 rotatably supporting the respective roll drive shafts 113, 114 by having a bearing 117a at the tip side of the roll drive shaft and a bearing 117b at the base end side of the roll drive shaft and orthogonally crossing the conveying line to extend. The bearing 117a at the tip side of the roll drive shaft of the respective bearing casings 115, 116 is arranged nearer to a roll side than to the position of the other conveying line in a plan view.
