Disclosed is a digital broadcasting transmission device provided with: packet generating units (51, 52) for encoding input audio signals and converting them to encoded audio signals, and which generate PES data by generating audio stream packets that include the encoded audio signals that were converted; a descriptor updating unit (57) that updates a component descriptor, which includes a component type ID that indicates that it is an MPEG surround sound, and a change-reservation ID that indicates a reservation to change the audio component type; a packetizing unit (54) that generates section data by packetizing the updated component descriptor; a multiplexing unit (55) that multiplexes PES data and section data; and a modulation unit (56) that modulates and transmits the multiplexed data.
