PURPOSE: An optical power control method in an optical disk recorder and a device thereof are provided to perform data recording operation by applying an optimum optical power value per recording speed. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer calculates an optimal optical power value by recording speed corresponding to data recording sections of an optical disk through a OPC(Optimum Power Calculation) operation(S10,S11). During recording data, the microcomputer calculates a new optimal optical power value through reproducing data which is recorded right before the reproducing. The microcomputer calculates a variation of the optimal optical power value. In changing a recording speed, the microcomputer recompenses a pre-stored optimal optical power value by change amount of the optimal optical power value(S14~S17). |
