An electronic device is provided with: an input receiving section which receives the input of the instruction that one of a plurality of operating states is to be selected; a function section (342) which can operate in a plurality of operating states with different power consumption and operates in the operating state indicated by the input of the instruction inputted to the input receiving section, a storage section (16) in which the power consumption value in each of the operating states and a conversion factor for converting the power consumption into the amount of greenhouse gases are previously stored; and a control unit (15) which, upon the input of the instruction to the input receiving section, reads a power consumption value corresponding to the operating state indicated by the input of the instruction from the storage section, multiplies the read power consumption value by the conversion factor, calculates the amount of greenhouse gases per unit time, and displays the amount on a display section.
