<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device which can reduce a size while maintaining cutting ability possessed by a conventional cutting device. <P>SOLUTION: The cutting device comprises a cutting part comprising a movable blade movable by a drive mechanism and a stationary blade, an operation part that, by driving the drive mechanism, brings an edge of the movable blade in slide contact with an edge of the stationary blade to move in an arc form in a direction perpendicular to the edge of the stationary blade, and a blade pressure generation part that develops blade pressure between the movable blade and the stationary blade. For example, the cutting part may comprise a first module loaded with the stationary blade and a second module loaded with the movable blade.
