<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device using a hopping developing system capable of suppressing surface-staining, an image forming apparatus including the developing device, and a process cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device includes: a toner carrier having a plurality of electrodes which are arranged along the surface thereof; a toner supply means for supplying the toner to the surface of the toner carrier; and a hopping electric field generating means for generating, on the surface of the toner carrier, an electric field to allow the toner carried on the surface of the toner carrier to hop by periodical application of voltage to the plurality of electrodes; wherein the toner carried on the surface of the toner carrier is conveyed into a developing area opposed to a latent image carrier, then, the toner is deposited on the latent image on the latent image carrier to develop the latent image. The developing device is provided with a charge imparting means for imparting, to the toner carried on the surface of the toner carrier, a charge of the same polarity as the normal charge polarity of the toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
