PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic polyester composition which enables a volatile component from a molded product thereof to be reduced and enables contamination of a content due to the volatile component to be suppressed even if not containing an antioxidant having a hindered phenol and a light stabilizer having a hindered amine and to provide a method for producing the thermoplastic polyester composition. SOLUTION: In the polyester resin composition comprising a polybutylene naphthalate and a dimer diol, 50 to 55 pts.mass dimer diol is compounded into 100 pts.mass sum of the polybutylene naphthalate and dimer diol.
