PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device configured so that a pressing member is brought into pressure contact with a fixing rotating body through a pressure belt, wherein pressure contact force in a shaft direction of the pressing member can be optionally controlled including what the pressure contact force is made to be uniform, and length of a nip part between the fixing rotating body and a pressure rotating body can be adjusted. SOLUTION: The fixing device is provided with: the endless pressure belt 71 pressure contacting a fixing roller 6; the pressing member 72 pressing the pressure belt 71 from the inside of the pressure belt 71, and constituting the nip part N between the fixing roller 6 and the pressing member 72; and an actuator element 73 energizing the pressing member 72 toward the fixing roller 6 and deformed by being electrified. Here, it is desirable to provide a plurality of actuator elements 73 in a longitudinal direction of the nip part N from the viewpoint that the pressure contact force in the longitudinal direction of the nip part N is optionally controlled.
