<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a situation in which an amount of color material contained in a developing means for developing an image is run short of when forming an image group comprising a plurality of images on a plurality of recording media. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 11 of the image forming apparatus 1 calculates toner consumption on the basis of a ratio (hereinafter referred to as image density) of a pixel group constituting an image to be formed on recording paper in an area where the image can be formed on the recording paper. The controller 11 specifies an amount of toner equivalent to the toner consumption as an amount of toner (toner supply amount) to be supplied to a developing device.
