PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge removal unit that performs processing while a liquid is being held in a tank, whose facility cost is not increased, and sludge removal efficiency is high without enlarging the facilities. SOLUTION: The inside of the tank 1 is partitioned to a first section 11 and a second section 12 by a partition plate 2 rising from the bottom thereof. A sludge suction pipe 3 where a circular suction hole 31 is formed in a peripheral surface is disposed a little above the bottom of the partition plate 2 side in the first section 11. A sludge discharging pipe 4 connected to the sludge suction pipe 3 is disposed outside the tank and a suction pump is connected to the sludge discharging pipe 4. The liquid containing the sludge is introduced into the first section 11 from a liquid introducing pipe 8, and the liquid from which the sludge is removed is led from a liquid leading pipe 9 connected to a liquid leading outlet 13 of the second section 12.
