PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which does not give misleading information showing that a camera is broken even if a moving image display of an image which corrects aberration of a photographic lens is switched to the moving image display of an image which does not correct the aberration, when detaching the photographic lens. SOLUTION: A lens information storage unit 107 for storing aberration information, an imaging unit 113 for converting an image formed by a photographic lens 101 into a first image data, an image processing unit 116 for generating a second image data in which the aberration is reduced based on the aberration information, and a photographic lens image forming state detection unit for detecting deterioration of an image forming state of a first image at a level at which a user cannot recognize a change of the image even when a second image displayed in a display unit 119 is switched to the first image when detaching the photographic lens 101 from an imaging apparatus body 102 are included. The display unit 119 continuously displays the second image until at least deterioration of the image forming state of the first image is detected by the photographic lens image forming state detection unit and then displays the first image.
