PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a pavement body superior in dynamic stability and thermal conductivity, and a pavement material for use in the pavement body. SOLUTION: In the pavement material, coarse aggregate and fine aggregate are contained in asphalt mortar in which a binder is added to asphalt. Characteristically, the coarse aggregate is made of coarse aggregate which does not pass through a 1.2 mm sieve (preferably 5 mm sieve) and which passes through a 20 mm sieve (preferably 13 mm sieve); and the fine aggregate is made of chert sand which passes through a 2.5 mm sieve and the 0.6 mm cumulative passage percentage of which is 60 mass% or more.
