PURPOSE: A power management method using a smart card and an apparatus for the same are provided to manage power generation and consumption in real time. CONSTITUTION: A card recognizer(42) confirms generic numbers by recognizing smart card of an electricity power user. A communication unit(44) transmits generic numbers to a power management server computer. The communication unit receives smart card authentication information from the power management server computer. A power measurer unit(46) measures power consumption of the systematic power provided to a load.
