The invention concerns a mould for continuous casting of long or flat products extending along an axis (z), and comprising an internal and an external surface delimiting mould thicknesses (e), the internal surface defining a mould cavity, characterized in that the thickness (e, e', e3, e4) of at least one part of the mould (10) varies depending on measured or simulated temperature gradients of a mould in use. The invention also concerns a cooling jacket design to cooperate with such a mould and an assembly comprising such a mould and such a cooling jacket.
