A floor heating system

The floor heating system comprises a heating box 1 adapted to be secured to an underside of a raised floor panel 4. The heating box 1 incorporates an insulating material 2, an electric heating matrix 3 and a connecting cable 5. The cable 5 leads to a terminal plug 7 which may releasably engage a socket connector in an electrical mains trunking 8 disposed on a base 9. The heating box 1 has flanges which are used to fix the heating box to the underside of the floor panel 4. The floor panel 4 may have ribs or other guide features enabling the correct location of the heating box 1 with respect to the floor panel 4. The box 1 may be made from sheet metal.
