RECOMBINANT ADENOVIRUS FOR HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA CELL SPECIFIC IN VIVO IMAGING AND TREATMENT

PURPOSE: A recombinant adenovirus for expressing an image reporter gene or therapeutic gene and a composition containing the same for diagnosing or treating liver cancer is provided to minimize cytotoxicity. CONSTITUTION: A replication deficient recombinant adenovirus is used for expressing an image reporter gene or therapeutic gene which is operatively linked to alpha-fetoprotein enhancer/promoter. The image reporter gene or therapeutic gene is a gene encoding luciferase. A composition for diagnosing liver cancer by optical molecular imaging contains the replication deficient recombinant adenovirus and radionuclide. The radionuclide is gamma ray emission radiodien or positron emission radiodine.
