PURPOSE: A digital broadcast transmitting and receiving device is provided to discard a duplicated ETT(Extended Text Table) section about each channel and event ETT sections. CONSTITUTION: A tuner(10) receives a digital broadcasting signal including a plurality of ETT instances. The ETT instances are included in a transport stream which has the same PID(Packet IDentifier) value. The ETT instances have the common table ID value. A demodulator(20) demodulates the digital broadcasting signal. An identification division distinguishes one or more ETT instances among a plurality of ETT instances.
