PURPOSE: An input device and a portable terminal using the same are provided to reduce a manufacturing cost and to increase productivity by mounting the input device to the portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: A light source(20) irradiates light. A housing(30) contacts a subject. An optical guide(50) guides light which is reflected to the subject. A light receiving unit(60) receives light which is guided through the optical guide and is installed in a printed circuit board. A pad layer(90) is installed in a printed circuit board to control the thickness of a module.
