APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR POSITION REALIZATION USING OFDM WATERMARKING

PURPOSE: A position recognition apparatus using OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) watermarking and a method thereof are provided to calculate the position of a mobile terminal even GPS signal is not received or error is generated in GPS signal receiving. CONSTITUTION: A correlation character extracting unit(250) distinguishes OFDM transmitters based on the result of the correlation character extraction. The correlation character extracting unit calculates correlation characteristic peak values of OFDM transmitters which are obtained through matching filter. An OFDM position calculation unit(260) calculates distances from the OFDM transmitters according to the size of correlation character peak values of the OFDM transmitters. The OFDM position calculation unit calculates the position by using distance values of more than three OFDM transmitters.
