Disclosed is a heat retention agent for agricultural films, which is composed of a hydrotalcite particulate powder that has a balance among transparency required for heat retention agents for agricultural films, dispersibility in resins and handling properties at a high level. Specifically disclosed are: a hydrotalcite particulate powder which is characterized by having an oil absorption of not more than 35 ml/100 g and a value of oil absorption/plate surface diameter of 140-190; a heat retention agent for agricultural films, which is composed of the hydrotalcite particulate powder; and an agricultural film which contains the heat retention agent for agricultural films.
