PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire lock which exhibits both flexibility and use convenience and also exhibits a sufficient endurance against wire cutting operation by a theft using a cutting tool. SOLUTION: The wire lock includes a flexible wire body and a lock mechanism controlling to open/close both ends of the wire body. The wire body includes a wire rope obtained by twisting a plurality of steel wires and an external wire material spirally wound around the outer circumference of the wire rope. The wire lock includes a cylindrical coating material to be externally fitted around the outer circumference of the wire body, and preferably a synthetic resin or rubber is used as a cylindrical coating material. Furthermore, as the external wire material, it is preferable to use a single wire or wire rope made of a steel wire selected from the group consisting of a hard steel wire, an oil-tempered steel wire, a PC hard steel wire, a galvanized steel wire, a piano steel wire, a stainless steel wire, a titanium steel wire and a titanium alloy steel wire.
