摘要 <p>Disclosed is a wavelength conversion element which is provided with a base substrate (12) and a ferroelectric single crystal substrate (11'). On one surface of the base substrate (12), a transparent electrode (14) is formed. On the ferroelectric single crystal substrate (11'), an optical waveguide is formed, and an insulating film (13) is formed on one surface of the ferroelectric single crystal substrate. The base substrate (12) and the ferroelectric single crystal substrate (11') are bonded together such that the insulating film (13) and the transparent electrode (14) face each other. Namely, on the surface having the base substrate (12) bonded thereon, the transparent electrode (14) is formed as an electrode for performing polarization inversion of the ferroelectric single crystal substrate (11'). Therefore, at the time of inspecting the wavelength conversion element, peeling between the substrates can be eliminated even if laser beams are applied to the electrode, since a temperature increase of the substrates can be suppressed by having the position of the wavelength conversion element and the position where the laser beams are inputted shifted from each other.</p>
