<p>A method, pre-FEC(forward error correction) BER(bit error ratio) feedback apparatus and optical transport network device for improving signal quality disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention relate to the technical field of communications, and can improve the quality of the signals from each path demodulated by the optical module. The method comprises the following steps: error-corrected bit rates of data bits of the signals corresponding to each virtual channel are calculated in the process of the FEC decoding; pre-FEC BERs of the physical channels corresponding to each virtual channel are calculated according to the error-corrected bit rates of data bits of the signals corresponding to each virtual channel; the pre-FEC BERs are fed back to the optical module; the optical module adjusts the reception parameters of each physical channel to decrease its pre-FEC BER.</p>
