PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrostatic bearing whose structure can be made simpler than those of conventional hydrostatic bearings so that high static rigidity can be achieved over a wide load range, and a pressure control unit thereof. SOLUTION: The hydrostatic bearing and the pressure control unit include a bearing body 1 having a bearing surface 1A, a discharge flow passage 3 for discharging pressure oil to the bearing surface 1A of the bearing body 1, a pressure oil supply chamber 2 formed within the bearing body 1 to supply pressure oil to the discharge flow passage 3, an elastic hinge mechanism 10 housed within the pressure oil supply chamber 2 and controlling the flow of pressure oil supplied to the discharge flow passage 3, and a supply oil flow passage 4 for supplying pressure oil to the pressure oil supply chamber 2. The elastic hinge mechanism 10 includes a throttle plate 11, a retaining plate 12 and a link plate 13 that together guide the throttle plate 11, and an elastic hinge 14 biasing and retaining the throttle plate 11 in a predetermined position.
