PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a phase discrimination signal, whose quality is equal to or higher than that acquired by using two ISBT optical gates, by using a single ISBT optical gate. SOLUTION: The optical signal processing method and the optical signal processing device are characterized in that an optical signal 1 is divided into a first divided optical signal 1 and a second divided optical signal 1 so as to be made incident on the ISBT optical gate from mutually opposed directions, and also, the optical signal 2 is absorptively made incident on the ISBT optical gate, and an output difference from the ISBT optical gate between the first divided optical signal 1 and the second divided optical signal 1 is acquired as the phase discrimination signal.
