GAMUT MAPPING WHICH TAKES INTO ACCOUNT PIXELS IN ADJACENT AREAS OF A DISPLAY UNIT

PURPOSE: A gamut mapping at adjacent area of a display unit in consideration of pixels is provided to improve the image quality of any type of image through relatively low costs. CONSTITUTION: In a gamut mapping at adjacent area of a display unit in consideration of pixels, gamut mapping extracts the area of a color gamut which is surrounded on at least two sides by out-of-gamut areas. The gamut mapping additionally reduces the number of a sub pixel in the color gamut. The contracts between the internal and external color gamut is restored.
