<p>Heater for vehicles of the type including a fuel burner fitted at the end of a combustion chamber, which is in heat exchange relationship with an air massage in which is mounted an air blower for the circulation and discharge of the heated air into the passenger compartment. A spark plug is provided to ignite the combustible mixture. The spark plug is fitted within a bore extending within the combustion chamber and opening at the exterior of the heater. In order to positively prevent any escape of combustion gases through the bore in which the spark plug is fitted and into the passenger compartment, the exposed connector end of the spark plug is located in a hermetically closed box, and this box is in communication with the intake side of the blower for supplying combustion air to the burner, so that combustion gases in the box can be recirculated into the combustion chamber. Advantageously, the controls for the heater are also located within the hermetically sealed box. Obviously, the heater can be adapted to heat a liquid.</p> |
