PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide metal oxide phosphor fine particles which can be dispersed in various resins and stably dispersed and have high emission intensity, a method for producing the same and a resin composition containing the phosphor fine particles. SOLUTION: The metal oxide phosphor fine particles are obtained by reacting a metal oxide precursor and a polysilsesquioxane derivative having a reactive alkoxysilyl group at its molecular terminal and a molecular weight of 300 to 3,000, at 200 to 300°C in a polyol based solvent having ≥250°C boiling point.
