TEXT INPUT METHOD BY A TOUCH POINTING DEVICE

PURPOSE: A text input method by a touch pointing device is provided to enable the implementation of a GUI(Graphic User Interface) in an electronic device having a monitor by having a keyboard function. CONSTITUTION: When a touch input operation is sensed, a first text of a virtual key on a virtual keyboard corresponding to a touch input region in a 2D pointing device is designated. If a pressing operation is sensed, a second text of the virtual key is designated and is inputted. If a finger is distanced from the pointing device or moves in another direction, a new text is ready for being inputted.
