<p>Disclosed is a recording device provided with: a packet-selection means (102) that selects prescribed packets from among inputted transport packets; a packet-deletion decision means (107) that decides whether or not to delete packets that were not selected by the packet-selection means (102); and a counting means (108) that counts the number of prescribed packets selected by the packet-selection means (102). For each supported configuration, null packets that are not needed during recording are recorded instead of being deleted down to the minimum needed. This makes it possible to maintain the same transport stream packet spacing as upon reception.</p> |
