Apparatus (1) for cutting endless sheet substrates (A) (4), loaded with active agent, comprises: (a) first and second roll pairs (2, 3) for continuously advancing (A), which is freely suspended under tension between the roll pairs; and (b) a laser (6) for contact-free cutting of (A) into segments, in a region (5) between the rollers, by forming cuts of adjustable depth along a predetermined contour. An independent claim is included for a corresponding method for producing an active agent-loaded endless sheet substrate (A) (preferably comprising a lower supporting film (20) and an upper covering film (21)) in the cutting region (5) of laser cutting apparatus, in which: (i) (A) is continuously transported through the cutting region between rotating roll pairs (2, 3); (ii) (A) is cut, inscribed and/or decorated by the laser (6) during transport; (iii) the roll pairs pairs apply advancing moment to (A) (4); and (iv) (A) is freely suspended in the cutting region. |
