PURPOSE: A thin film manganese dioxide battery is provided to effectively suppress gas generation such as hydrogen within a battery and to prevent thickness expansion of a thin film manganese battery, electrode distance, and sudden performance degradation. CONSTITUTION: A thin film manganese dioxide battery comprises a positive electrode layer(1), a negative electrode layer(2) and electrolyte(3). The electrolyte includes calcium hydroxide. The calcium hydroxide is included in the state where calcium hydroxide is saturated in the electrolyte. The negative electrode layer comprises zinc alloy to which one or more inhibitors for suppressing gas generation selected from the group consisting of bismuth(Bi), indium(In) and aluminum(Al).
